RE: [DL] Timing of written adventures (Spoilers)
Well it being deadlands and all, ya gotta throw a little bit o'tha weird
in there.
Since they are going to try and get a beef cattle contract, why not have
one side come up with some "Syrum" for increasing the beef production of
their cattle.
While it is also kicking up the size of the cattle, it could be mutating
one every so often. Or they need something nefarious for the syrum, or
both. Kinda start it out like a little investigation work, where the
posse hangs around with the family you want them supporting, gets put up
by them while they do their investigating. Make sure the other family
is responsible, and generally hindering the posse the whole way along.
Throw in a couple of red herrings here and there. Have a member of the
"Good" family bite it trying to protect one of the posse.
Hopefully it's enough to get the posse into taking sides.

Wow, you guys replied FAST!!!! Thanks for the advise. Now, maybe I can
solicit a few more ideas
:)
I have been working on a way to bring in the Lincoln County (NM) War
which led to the legend of
Billy the Kid (IRL) and was the subject of the movie Young Guns.
Seeing as how there is still the Civil War going on, I can see the
desire of both the Dolan-Murphy
store and the Tunstall-McSween store to get the beef contract from the
Army. In DL history it's
the Confederate Army, but that's not important. What is important is
that, as was noted on the
Pinnacle Forum, it would not be named Lincoln County, NM, and I'm trying
to come up with a name.
Mosby County is one, Davis County, Jefferson County, nothing sees to
POP, though. Also, any ideas
on how to make a cattle war interesting for the players, or how to get
them involved with one
faction, or the other. They are a pretty stand up group who try to do
the right and lawful thing,
so once Billy kills the Sheriff, I might get them involved there, but,
I'd like to get them in
sooner, if I could.
Anyone got some ideas I might could borrow?
