Shane mentioned it was financed via one guy's credit card, which can be very good (Clerks) or very, very bad (Manos: The Hands of Fate). Either way, it's unlikely to get theater play unless it's good enough and can get in via a niche... I doubt Clerks would have gotten popular without the pseudo-arty bits, like filming in black and white, and the chapter titles.
