[DL] "PC Death" Train aka Night Train Dime Novel Adventure (Spoilers)

Greetings.

Just finished a session running "Night Train" with an all new group. We had
some hurdles outside of the scenario. Only three of the four players
expected showed up and one of them had to leave early (this was after the
posse left Barlowe Station and before arriving in Varney Flats).

As per usual one character was killed outright by one of the Nosferatu. The
player had choose to be a Veteran of the Weird West and he got the one where
you can't use fate chips to offset damage. So that and a Nosferatu was a
deadly combination.

The first half of the game was awesome and these all new Deadlands players
played some poker, did a great job role-playing and investigating both
Barlowe Station and the environs of Varney Flats.

They managed to use a great Ridicule role to stand down the mob and
everything was running very smooth until the Night Train arrived. The two
characters went outside casually and then hid behind some buildings while
the Train stopped. Then the Nosferatu came out, the fear level spiked to
four, and they went straight onto the townspeople. The huckster in the group
tried a soul blast which he botched. This drew attention on him and he died
in the first attack against him (this is the guy who can't use the fate
chips for damage). Then the Mad Scientist waited until the Nosferatu where
busy in town and snuck up to the two covered sleeper cars and set off 10
sticks of dynamite.

Since this was well over 100 points of damage I figured it ruined the
sleeper cars, blew the larder car and caboose off the track, and did some
minor damage to the engine car. The Zombie Conductor blew the whistle and
the nosferatu came back in to leave.

This sort of ruins the whole chase scene planned in the scenario since the
vamps only managed to get a few bodies stuffed into the engine car. They did
make off with the notorious killer from the jail.

So what do you all recommend to continue? Do you think the Night Train would
reappear in a few game months repaired? I don't think that Nosferatu would
harbor any vengeance against the posse since they are so feral. And the lone
mad scientist is certainly not going to chase down the smoking engine car by
himself. The poor deputy is dead as well.
