This is actually going to be for GW's Inquisitor
rather than Deadlands, but you guys arefairly
knowledgeable about this stuff, so I thought I'd pose
the question here.
I plan to run an adventure in which a group of
cultists gets hold of the DNA of some ancient earth
cavalry general, and clones him, possibly to be
possessed by a daemon. This general would then make
hit and run attacks and sweeping end runs on vastly
superior forces, always under the delusion that he was
fighting for his original cause.
The question is, who should this be? It should not be
a stand-up battles guy like Napoleon, or even a
cavalry general like Murat or Cromwell who won mostly
by bravely smashing into the enemy with heavy cavalry,
but rather somebody who was skilled in misdirection
and lightning strikes.
I think mostly of the American Civil War Generals, and
particularly Nathan Bedford Forrest "git thar fustest
with the mostest" though J.E.B. Stuart and Custer also
come to mind. These three also have the advantage of
being very colorful. I also considered Prince Rupert,
though he was not as tactically successful as any of
the above.
Any thoughts for other potential candidates?
