RE: [DL] Savage Worlds -- I beg to differ! ;)
Pinnacle has NOT abandoned Deadlands.
True, they are at the moment using Mystic Eye Games to put out more DL
material that they do not presently have the facilities to put out. Yes,
they are directing their resources instead towards Savage Worlds RIGHT NOW,
as that is what is going to be able to get them financially stable enough to
begin working on Deadlands material again. Of course, I say "them," but I
really should be saying "him" because (last I heard) right now PEG is one
guy: Shane. THE MAN CAN'T BE EVERYWHERE AT ONCE! :)
Interestingly enough, the evidence that Shane still has an interest in
Deadlands can be found on PEG's forums (which, BTW I do find useful, even
though I don't have the opportunity to read it and post on it as often as I
can to this e-mail list).
Here is the link to the particular thread you'll want to see for Shane's
response to allegations that DL is being abandoned:
http://www.peginc.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=45
(Just scroll down until you see a picture of Stone to see his response).
I think it will answer most of the questions you've raised.
(Or bring about a slew of new ones....) ;)
Take care,
-- Jim

True, but not as easy to use or as convenient as e-mail lists. I seldom
have stayed with that format for long. I am too busy most of the time to
have to log in and look around that type of format. But, if it works for
others, more power to them.

Yes, but I also think that DL and HOE are going to die out due to a general
lack of interest from the creator. As a writer and an artist I understand.
The reason for creation is not the same as the reasons for nurturing an art
piece. PEG has their heart in SW, and have handed DL to Knuckleduster
Publications. As long as KP still has the spark DL will do okay... but if
not, bye bye to all the new stuff for DL. After that even the hardcore fans
will lose interest as they seek out a new source for their own creative
release.
It has happened to better games that DL... and to a TON of worse ones! haha!
Of corse all of this is just my abrasive opinion :-)
