Its not as looming a threat as you may think. Unless he's a glutton for punishment and is casting hexes every five minutes, he may go several sessions without backlash. I don't think I've seen a huckster cast more than 5 hexes a session. I personally have played 4 different hucksters, and we've had a total of 4 other hucksters in the posse in the past and between us we've had only 5 cases of backlash and rarly was it more than a slap in the face... How ever I did suffer back lash while trying to Soul Blast  a vampire from horse back and full gallop and ended up knocking myself off the horse and taking the vampire with me.
