Re: [DL] TV shows in the Deadlands timeline

On a related note, think of all the sci fi series and flicks with some sort
of representation of the war on Faraway... Not to mention the Army
recruitment commercials.

In a Deadlans setting, the concept that Star Trek was a "wagon train to the
stars" as Roddenberry described it takes on a whole new level of meaning.
Would, instead of Mr. Spock trying to control his emotions, we instead see a
Harrowed trying to control his manitou every few weeks?

If nothing else, just think of special effects and how many mad scientists
George Lucas would have employed at Industrial Light and Magic.

Subject: [DL] TV shows in the Deadlands timeline
Date: Wed, 23 Apr 2003 06:00:01 -0700 (PDT)

Warning: Slightly demented thought patterns ahead.

I've had a couple of weird thoughts of how certain TV
shows might have been different in this timeline. For
example:

Dragnet: Joe Friday and Frank Smith (or Bill Gannon if
you're more familiar with the 60s version) as Guardian
Angels? Possibly have in the intro "My name's Friday.
I'm an Angel." (For the 60s show, it could be "My
name's Friday. I carry a sword.")

Rocky and Bullwinkle: Not much here, but I've had
mildly disturbing images of Stone shouting "KEEL
MOOSE" and Raven wearing a monocle and saying
"Achtung, Stone" and Mina Devlin saying "Vunderful,
darlink".

How about a Munsters type show entitled "The
Whateleys"? This week, little Eddie is possessed by
the spirit of Joseph Curwen.

Anyone who wishes to add on, feel free.

=====
I have come to the conclusion that one useless man is called a disgrace,
that two are called a law firm, and that three or more become a Congress.
