This is off topic.

Long time ago, right after the first Ravenloft adventure came out we played
it. It was a great adventure, however, our GM at the time really liked the
mystery part. So we're playing the adventure, and after two nights of gaming
I make this comment, "This adventure is pretty easy so far, I'm afraid of
what's waiting for us at the end." Cause we explored several building/ruins
putting clues together and had no encounters. Which our GM replied, "Yeah,
the mystery is really coming together and I didn't want to slow us down, so
I took out all the monsters." That ruined the entire adventure for me. Not
that I'm a combat monger, but a few encounters would be nice. I told him how
I felt, but he didn't want to get bothered by combat since he was having fun
with the mystery part. So I just tuned the game out till the end and we
moved on. I stopped showing up for a while till we could move on. It def
adds to the excitement if you think there's danger waiting around a corner
and such.
