Sort of like a lifestyle in Shadowrun? If you're
looking to downplay the financial aspects of a game,
this sounds like a pretty good idea.
We do something similar with our party of mad
scientists. In essence, we have a monthly "budget"
that covers the basics (rent - we have a building,
food, clothing, general mad science supplies, ghost
rock costs for the augmented, ...) and we tick it off
every month. That way we only have to keep track of
specific things, like building a new device, gambling
wins or losses, and unexpected drinking binges.
