Okay, in Hexarcana, it says that to be a metal mage, you simply need to have
both the AB-mad science and AB-huckster. If you have one already, you can
learn the other per rules for gaining edges, taking about 6 months (3 with a
teacher).
Now, for a Tempest - I checked Hucksters & Hexes, and didn't see anythign in
the Tempest Knack that specifically or obliquely (sp?) said that a Tempest
can't take AB-Mad Science or AB-Huckster. Nor was there anything I could
find in the Marshall's section, although it was a quick look.
