[DL] The dead of Deadlands?

While everybody is happy about the new European sourcebook, the big sale and
the free players handbook I am kind of worried.

For me it looks like PEG has dropped Deadlands. Even in this electronic age,
I do not have much faith in a role-playing game with no available paper
version of the core rules. Soon most of the support stuff will be out of
print too - because of the great sale.

I think that decisions on investing time and money in a new campaign world
is mostly made in game stores - and when Deadlands isn't there any longer
new players will stay away. Therefore I think the free players handbook
could be a bad thing (even though I am happy to be able to hand some
printouts out to my players during my next session)

As for the European and other new sourcebooks, I think they depend on
Deadlands being a live and successful system. The unavailability of the core
rules in paper form is a hindrance to that.

Somebody please tell me I am paranoid...
