[DL] ideas for whatley's

Okay, I am right now running a deadlands d20 in Tuscan arizonia.

First a little background.

The party consists of the following

Cyrus: A blessed who was once a farmer whose family was killed by the animated dead, and has declared vengence on the evil on the land. He carries a bible in one hand and a six shooter in the other.

Elliot: A metis from British columbia (never knew they were there :p) who pretty much is a gambler and hustler (aka maverick)

Lou Devereux: A huckster From New Orleans

Ann: A young pony express rider, who was orphaned and found out she has kin in Tuscan, and promptly sold off the land there.

Jim West (shesh, come up with an original): a gunslinger, who is going to be a federal Marshal.


The party descended onto the town and of course went into the saloon.

A few minutes later, there was an explosion, that caused a man with passing resemblence to Dr. Emmett Brown screaming out..."Eureka, I've done!!!"

He then bought a round for the tavern.  They find out he is Winslow P. Warren and he has completed his work of 30 years, that can be used as ground penetrating radar. The character's also believe that it could be used as a earthquake machine.

The next day he mysteriously vanished.  The party (of which one, despite being from the north, has become a deputy) undertook an investgation, which led to the following.

Peter Davidson: local Attachee for Sweet Rock Industry

Tim Ainson: Never do well who was acting as contact between Bayou Vermillion and the town.

And the mayor and shierff from the boomtowns box set.  I also had them become borders at that bunkhouse with the old bitty. <g>.

After talking to the sweetrock, he went missing as well.  As well as the mayor.

The party eventually went to one of the mining sites, where they found out that Sweet rock was using the walking dead for labor.

They returned to the locked attache place and found that there was "zombie chow" in one of the drawers, and one of the back rooms of the office had a pentegram drawn in blood.

They also found a map that led to a special mine that (thanks to the huckster from new orleans decipher script), had strange undertones.

They ended up in a cave complex, and after meeting up with a few devil bats, they ended up in a trap with dynamite.

Because it is a western, they all wake up in a cage 5x5 (hee hee think of those volkswagons contests) from the 60's, okay, but captured, they manage to get out from the guards and investigate the desk in the room.

They find a gremlin in one of the drawers, that was immediately befriended by the Mavrick (using his amazing charisma and even better roleplaying abilities)...and basically after a variation of a dungeon trek, they managed to find winslow, in a giant machine of war.

They manage to blow the thing sky high, but because winslow is wrapped in metal and cushions, he lives (but in a coma), and suspected that he is drugged as well.

They manage to find tim anson, in a room where he is sitting, indian style in the middle of a pentagram where he appears to be summoning something.

They have an epic match, where tim  (and his minions) die, and carry on their way

Where they find peter davidson, in a locked room, with about 30 or 40 pounds of dynamite on him, and a trigger to both the door and a timer.  They managed to free the peter (but it has caused him to faint), and they manage to go back to town.

When they run back to town, they find out that the shierif has been killed, and a texas ranger has arrived.  He confides in the deputy that bad things are about to happen in this town and to find out what's happening.

The Mayor is still missing.

Peter Davison is recovered, but is saying "no comment".  He is scarred out of his wits and his bodyguard (played by one of the players), is playing damage control on his behalf.

Winslow

A chinese snake oil sales man  (who is pretty much "uncle" from jackie chan and a high level smoker). has shown up in town peddling his ware.

What's about to happen...


The Whatley's have bought Ann's property and are moving in.  As part of the "black circle Alliance" they are there to test several mystical rituals that will help cause Knickknievlin to appear, and to smooth over relations between sweet rock and bayou vermilion.  They will also amuse themselves in their usual depraved manners.

1. Ideas for whatley's :  I want to give the head of this local clan its own distinctive feel.

2. Ideas to tie it all together: It's becoming a tad overwhelming right now.
