This way, I can mold William Bonney's history to my
liking.  Actually, with the way I plan to have my
first adventure (the intro adventure to my campaign),
the events that would have driven William H. Bonney
into his life as a legendary outlaw will be changed.

For those who know or don't know... what happened was
Bonney's employer J.H. Tunstall was killed, sparking
the Lincoln County War.  Billy and the other guys who
worked for Tunstall decided to extract their revenge
upon the men who did this.  Thus, the Regulators were
born.

From everything I've researched, Billy the Kid wasn't
the most honorable gunfighter out there.  From what
I've read, he did alot of shootin' people in the back.

Plus, he had some pretty bad luck.  People associated
him with killings that he nothing to do with.

Originally, I had no problem with my player using
Billy H. Bonney, but I informed him that he may never
become "Billy the Kid."

Any suggestions from other Marshal's in ways that
Billy's path could be changed?

What's going on, is a Chupakabra is killing cattle and
people in Lincoln.  I'm planning on having the events
of the creation of the Chupakabra to involve Tunstall
somehow.  What happens is that the local town Doctor's
brother betrays him by pretty much... well, I won't
include that here, because I'm paranoid that people
that shouldn't read this might read it.

My idea was to have the Lincoln Co War not even start
at all.  I was thinkin' of having Tunstall either go
missing, perhaps running away out of shame because of
the events in the first adventure.

I was even considering having him turn corrupt and
evil...  perhaps become starved with power in order to
become successful in his business.

Tunstall is the way I have Billy tie into the group. 
I just need him NOT get killed, making Billy and the
Regulators to never go "renegade."

Any ideas?
