[DL] Billy "The Kid"

I've got a random question.  When looking through the
Deadlands material I have... I've seen no mention of
Billy "The Kid" Bonney anywhere.  The Lincoln County
War isn't mentioned, either.

Oddly enough, Pat Garrett is mentioned and is U.S.
Marshal.  I know in history, Pat Garrett ran into and
associated with Billy "The Kid" before he became a
Marshal.  
My questions are, did William H. Bonney never become
infamous?  Did the Lincoln County War never occur?

One of my players is playing Billy "the Kid" and the
only reason I've allowed him to is because he's not
mentioned anywhere in the books.  Actually, 1877 is
around the time RIGHT when he started becoming
involved in the Lincoln Co. War.  Because the death of
his employer, J.H. Tunstall, he became the outlaw we
know today.

If Billy H. Bonney never became "The Kid," is there
anything in any source material that say what
happened?  

What I'm doing is probably gonna change history and
cause "The Kid" to never emerge.  He'll probably just
stay as plain ol' Willy Bonney (or little Willy, as
the posse calls him ^_^).

If he ever becomes infamous... I know of a couple of
posse members that are more than willing to turn in a
fellow member for becoming a murderous outlaw (which
"The Kid" was...)
