Just a idea I had about what would a werewolf who
went totally courupt, but had no interest in serving
the recongners do with his time.
The Kingdom:
A pyramid scheme for werewolves, a con artist by the
name of Raymond Carn got bitten several years back
and came to terms with his condition. Rather then
live like a wild man stalking down human prey until
some idealistic hero with silver bullets guns him
down, Carn chose to live in luxury and surround
himself with easier targets.
Carn is now known as the Reverend Carn, the public
spiritual guide of the town of Hope, and the alpha
male of the werewolf pack that consists of the entire
population. Since Hope is out in the middle of no
where it gets little visitors, it had a reputation of
being unfriendly to visitors, if hostility fails to
discourage outsiders, trumped up charges and a few
nights in jail usually drives them off.
Carn has come up with a simple plan to prevent being
challenged for control of his pack, prospective
challengers are killed off in human form by the
sheriff and his deputies, Carn’s personal thugs, or
trained to travel to the nearest town and take it
over the same way Carn controls Hope.
Each “Missionary” follows a simple plan, find the
local group of thugs, kill the leaders and infect the
rest. Kill off the local holy man and take his place.
After the first full moon most of the thugs are
willing to follow the new preacher man’s orders, the
rest are dog chow. In rabid order the town bad boys
become reformed men and pillars of the community,
soon other leading figures then the whole town joins
the pack, if facing serious resistance, the
Missionary can call for help from other nearby towns
already taken over or hope itself.
Each town infected is the source for further
infections, in time a large portion of a whole
territory might become infected, and with control of
a whole potential new state Carn may soon have
political powers under his control.
Carn has taken a serious dislike to other
supernatural creatures, Harrowed, Arcane backgrounds,
and even other Horrors are killed on sight with no
attempts to recruit or warn off.
The Kingdom can’t last forever, and Carn knows it.
Each infected town sends a tithe of money to Hope for
Carn to buy the weapons that will be needed when the
Agency or Rangers moves in, but Carn has been
secretly siphoning off the majority of the money to a
bank back east while buying up obsolete defective
weapons. If investigators start nosing around in Hope
itself, Carn will take it as the warning sign he’s
been waiting for and sneak off for the east while his
followers take care of the posse.
