RE: [DL] [OT-ish] Ranting?

Though the last thing I want to do is reignite a flame war I do feel I've been misconstrued here a bit. People can enjoy whatever systems they want - if somewhat wants to convert Call of Cthulhu to use the Tunnels and Trolls rules, thats cool. Its just that I find it a little depressing that every new games on the market uses the same rules for a purely commercial rather than asthetic reason, and that a lot of excellent systems seem to be being discarded. Monoculture is a depressing aspect of 21st century life. I understand the reasons, I understand the motivations, but I would dearly like it not to be happening. This stands equally for coffee stores and bookshops as RPGs - its getting so international travel is hardly worthwhile - everyone has the same shops, the same food and the same TV. Its nothing to do with individual gamers - I think its just the laziness of human beings in general.

>Amen, brother.

If a game is fun for someone else and not for you, why bitch about it?
