Nope, the real reason is the conspiracy of the Freemasons, the Bavarian Illuminati, the Knights Templar and KFC, which in fact has controlled American life since 1776. How else can you explain Reagan, Quayle and GWB ?

When was the last time the U.S. won a war against Germany *without* the help
UK and ancillary countries? ;-) For that matter when was the last time the
U.S. won a real war (i.e. the likes of Grenada and Panama don't count)
without the help of U.K. and ancillary countries?  Hmm, that would be about
the Spanish-American war, 1898.  The same for the U.K., the Falklands, 1982.

    Actually, the *real* reason the drinking age in the U.S. is 21 is the
result of the combined lobbying efforts of Canadian and Mexican border bars
who depend on 18-20 year old American drinkers.  ;-)
