Not generally. It's usually the case that the charecter conception has no 
particular gender attached to it and so I flip a coin/roll a die or 
whatever.

Huh, haven't run into that problem in F2F games (MUSHs are another 
matter). My only experience playing a female charecter in DL was an 
Alchemist/Nurse, not very sexual at all.

In mine I think half the players (both male and female) ocasionally play 
charecters who start as the oposite gender.

The other half have on ocasion done the same due to variouse weird 
gadgets, potions, magic spells or curses. (Most common being mind 
swapping, applied at random)

Of course, this is for the entirerty of my gaming group which is MUCH 
larger than the group that I just play deadlands with so it could be less 
frequent in DL, I don't really know. (Just limited to DL, I can think of 
four male charecters played by women and two female charecters played by 
men. Currently we don't have any genderbending in the DL game)
