RE: [DL] gencon and origins list serve dinner
well the thing with barleys is that i have to have people tell me who is
going
then I (ie the poor poor chick) would have to prepay the WHOLE thing and
order the food ahead of time
and well sandor is a nice guy and apparently loves you all a lot more than i
do hehe
and i just cant prepay like that
so uhm that aint going to happen
and that is what you have to do for that room in barley's
for gencon we just told them we had 50+ people coming on that night
(correct me if i am wrong allan)
and every table just paid their own
let me make some calls to the two usual places
and i will let you all know
lisa

First off, many thanks to Lisa for stepping forth and trying to
get the dinners organized.
However, can we honestly expect to have 50-some people "just show
up" at *any* restaurant during GenCon and have space available for us to
interact, which (to me, at least) is the whole point of the dinner?

I haven't noticed any problems with space at Barley's in the past,
but then again, after a couple of ginger ales, I don't notice much.:-)

At the *very* least we need to reserve space ahead of time. Even
if there's no pre-paid dinner at Origins, I think someone should pick up a
phone and reserve us the downstairs room at Barley's (and the separate room
at John Hawkes in Milwaukee, for that matter).
If I can help, Lisa, please let me know.
