RE: Hiya and here is what I found Re: [DL] Howdy and a few questions:

Hiya and here is what I could find for you on that information

> In the huge timeline compiled by David Heth and Mike Scofield that can be found from around the Weird Wild Web, it is mentioned that (apparently from the book The Junkman Cometh, on page 11) the Agency finds out about the manitou inspiration of mad scientist's devices. Can anybody give me any other facts about this? Like how, when and where do they find out and what do they do about it?

Highlights taken from the pages referenced in your post...........

This happens it would seem in 1889
It would seem that the ring leaders where captured.
The agency and rangers where both after the three ring leaders.
The rest of the SOS (Sons of Sitgreaves) where also hunted down across Europe and elsewhere before they could make it a public forum and get other countries to lodge protests to release the 3.
Some where captured, others hunted down and some simply disappeared.
All 3 of the ring leaders died in agency confinement.
Those that escaped got Lacey O'Malley involved from the Tombstone Epitaph.
Despite the agency and rangers best efforts the damage was done.

>My other question is about the Battle of 10 000 Arrows and the Great Summoning. Presumably this fact can be found from the Spirit Warriors book, also on page 11. What's the deal, who's fighting and what's the great summoning?
It really deals with Custer mustering an army of mercenaries drove deep into Sioux territory in response to an indian attack, some would say that it was staged by Custers men.
In response, the cavalry under the command of Colonel Brook Manning faced off against Custer about 40 miles away from Deadwood.
Brook found himself outnumbered 4-1 against Custers and after a 2 hour tense standoff the Sioux under the leadership of Red Bear attacked. Custer and Brook had to join forces to fight of the indian attack. Hundreds of Sioux died, the few shamans that where there did not have time to summon any big medicine and they finally had to retreat.
Brook died in the attack, his men joined with Custer. They pressed there way to Deadwood and started to erect barricades.

Sitting bull revealed to his people the stock piles of rifles, cannons, etc. fragmenting the council. The old wayers left and went north leaving Sitting Bull with a well equipped but smaller force to face Custer. He turned to Kang and the Iron Dragon. He promised Kang all type of concessions to help him fight and within hours Dragon troops where rushed to the Sioux nation.

Of course Hellstromme had tapped the line and couldn't let Kang control the Black hills so he mobilized his forces. He figured if he helped Custer the US would be so grateful they would give him mining rights.

Over the next month the Sioux nation turned into a slaughter house.

Automatons, Steam tanks, Chinese Spear men, Demonic Ogres, etc. The Sioux where the ones losing the most as there land and food stores where destroyed and people killed.

The old wayers traveled north across the Great River. All the old way shamans came together, hundreds of medicine men gathered together to perform a massive ritual. It lasted for 7 days. Less than a score of the 200 shamans and braves survived but the result was a success.

A great wind blew across the Sioux nation, all technological devices suddenly stopped working, the assembled Sioux warriors surged south and killed all that opposed them. This included Custer and his men died near the little big horn. Sitting bull was also killed found in the remains of Deadwood.
