[DL] Re: Mad Scientist are Weak
In regards to the thread about Mad Scientist, and their being weak, I am
currently playing said Mad Scientist, and IMO, I find them to be one of the
strongest characters in the game.
I am currently playing an Old Coot of a character, named Dr Mase Todd, who
is an Old School Agent, bucking against these new age trends of the Agency
and always commenting about how thinks were done back in the day when we
called ourselves Pinks, etc.
Anyways, I find that my character is constantly at the center of what is
going on, perhaps its because I insist on being there, again going back to
being an old coot, I feel like I can still do things as I did back in the
day.
My Shootin' Score is crap, so I never hit anything. I cant brawl, and as
those who have read my recent threads know, I cant dodge, but there is so
much more to deadlands then just standing back and opening up the guns and
shootin' someone.
The Mad Scientist is, again IMO, the most interesting character to roll
play, espically as you pick up dementias. In my recent game I developed a
major phobia of Knives, or knife like object. <Tonnes of fun now when I try
to do Autopsies, or Surgery> Developed an incessitable craving for salt, and
became Schizophrenic with a touch of Parnoia. So I purchased my self a
large block of Salt-Lick, that my mind has fabricated to be the love of my
life, and I am paranoid that members of the party are trying to steal her
away from me.
Again if role playing is not your thing, or you would rather just shoot
people, this might not work for you, but the wealth of humor and enjoyment
is to vast to comment in one post.
BTW for those of you whom are interested, Dr Mase Todd has kept a ongoing
Diary of what has been going on in the group, it is some 40 pages long, if
you would like to read.
