I like this idea too, but I'd have it work as
"negative" Stake and once Spirit reaches d4, no
further Stake could be spent.  Furthermore, any
"Spirit stake" would regenerate at only 1 point per
DAY.  And any busts on rolls using "Spirit Stake"
would mean that the Spirit loss would be PERMANENT.
