Hey all, Lots and lots of spoilers, I think I'd say Kentucky and a lot of the border states wouldn't really be claimed by either the United States or the Confederate States, they'd sorta act as a buffer zone. Claiming a state and garrisoning troops there could seem like a possible buildup for an invasion, but I'm not exactly sure. In California, you've got three armies belting it out: the Union, the Confederate, and the Mexican expeditionary force. Not to mention lots of bandits and rouge pirates. As for Mexico.....the CSA and Mexico could be pushed to the brink of war because of a attacks on the CSA citizens (a la Paunco Vila), and then a sizable force of CSA/Texas Rangers chasing the renegades as deep into Mexico as they dare. And remember, the Reckoners only want to cause fear. They can do that just fine without a lot of trouble. Sure, they may have to deal with battle-harderned soliders, but there are things that will scare them just as well. Remember that the Agency and Texas Rangers didn't wither....there was still alot of paranormal stuff going on that need to be cleaned up. This is touched upon in some of the HoE books (The Last Crusaders and Brianburners). Just my thoughts on the subject. |
