I would also like to point out another use of ghost rock namely ghost
steel. Using various ratios of iron to carbon to ghost rock "coke", metal
can be made with just about any attribute (hardness, strength, flexibility,
elasticity, plasticity, etc.) with the result that non-steam contraptions
suddenly become much easier to make. (Of course that ol' manitou
insipiration doesn't hurt.)
