let me add to this, the old double actions guns didn't crack open as
they do now, they had a cylinder guard that unhooked and allowed the
cylinder to swing to the side and let the speed loader fit in or manual.
I am including a photo of an opened cylinder on a late 1800 revolver,
to show how the speed style of speed loader would fit inside an old gun.
