[DL] Deadlands weirdness

I like the concept of a "Weirdness" attribute for characters, but I'd have
to agree that some folks might not look too kindly that the guy next to him
has an Ace for weirdness while he's sitting there with a 2 of clubs.

One thought I did have while reading your weirdness idea is that instead of
letting folks buy the arcane background with normal attribute points, the
arcane background can only be bought with Vet of the Weird West points.
Leave the cost at normal rates (3), & maybe reduce the cost for hexes,
miracles, etc.  Vet gives you ten points, so you'd have only seven points
left after buying the arcane background--that alone would severely limit the
PC's level in his new arcane background & amount of goodies he'd get.  Plus
that would definitely rule out those Fighter/Magic User/Cleric/Ranger/Bard
types out there....
