Reliability and accuracy are two different things.

Reliability pertains to how likely the gun is to jam, backfire, etc. 
It's a function not only of the gun but also dependent somewhat on the
ammunition.  Some types of ammo - such as magnum rounds IIRC - are more
likely to cause a problem in a gun that was not built to handle them.

Accuracy is how easy it is to hit a target.  The biggest thing that
affects accuracy is how well made the gun is.  In fact, larger rounds
tend to have a flatter trajectory, and thus be more accurate, but that's
minimal enough (and at long enough range) to be non-modelable in
Deadlands.
