That's an area that we'll agree to disagree.  I like the old rules with the 
card mechanics and the different statistic system.  It just feels fun.  I 
have as many decks of cards with different back as I have sets of dice with 
different colors. =)

Primarily, I'm not a game designer.  I don't want to balance all the NPC's I 
have in the game.  There are a lot of details in both systems and drawing a 
line from one to the other is not what I'd spend my time doing.  I like to 
spend the time I give to DL either running it or figuring out where the next 
twist is going to be.

I can only imagine the frustration of having to balance things in the 
existing campaign.  Fudging rolls and adding implausible twists to make up 
for a broken conversion I employed is not something I want to subject my 
players to.  I don't mind fudging rolls but do so very sparingly and not to 
make the world work.
