[DL] Deadlands, Alternate Alternative History
Having the US German link is rather cute, inspired by
the Harry Turtledove books perhaps?
For my own campaign I am tempted to have the Union
making overtures to the Imperial government in Mexico
- he may be an emperor but he is not a bad chap and
more importantly he is no friend of the Confederacy.
This will bring them closer to the Emperor's French
and Austrian backers leaving Britain - staying with
the CSA because of the need for cotton and annoyance
at the Union (Trent affair...).
Germany will come in with Britain (against France)
which is historically not unreasonable - surprisingly
close ties and overtures were made.
Which way Russia goes partly depends on whether or not
they sold Alaska to the Union. Historically it
happened in 1876 (Seward's Folly). I rather like the
idea of a Russian Alaska though.
I am not proposing a 'Great War' but I like to know
what the fault lines are.
