Notice how Steve carefully refers to Judge Roy Bean as a "legal figure",
not granting him any more official status in the judiciary then what is
given by his title. . .
To provide a counter-point though. Judge Parker was beat down by back east
lawyers hitting him with precedence and . . . not jurisprudence - not
etiquette - but . . . the proper manner in which a court should be run (you
know - that thing that the Microsoft judge violated everywhere).
Anyway - using these, the tinhorns got ruling after ruling of Parker's
overturned. And with each breech of conduct (?) Parker's jurisdiction was
reduced until he barely had any authority over purely Indian Territory cases.
