Dat's moonshine...you take blood loss in the form of Wind damage if you
have any wounds of 3 or greater...each wound level, 3 and up, bleeds 1
wind per round (so a level 4 wound loses 2 Wind, etc.).  Doesn't sound
like much, but when you add it up, it's a pretty quick death sentence.
