RE: [DL] combat system

I even roll my damage dice in the same handful. If the location comes up
gizzards or head, and the Shootin' shows a hit, then extra damage dice are
easy enough to do. As are rolling some more for aces. And most of our
group goes ahead and gets their next action rolled up while other players
are taking their actions, so all they have to do is announce results.
'Course, our group doesn't cheat, so none of us feel the need to see each
and every roll (did I just cross threads? sorry if so).

We also dragged one guy's wife into assisting the game master with rolling
dice for the bad guys. She enjoys causing bloodshed amongst the PCs, but
doesn't want to actually play. Speeds up the GMs side of combat. We bring
her chocolate in a pitiful attempt to bribe her and maybe get some leniency!
(Her husband runs a Darksun DnD3 campaign, and she helps me run Deadlands.
She actually suggested to me to use a red chip to boost a Spirit check
versus a PC. The character gutted himself because the possessing entity had
a 34 vs. the players 19, that's when the chocolate started being offered!)
