My 2 cents ... It sounds like you don't plan on
canning this player, otherwise you would have done it
already. In that case, go with Allan and Ronald's
suggestions, use corruption points. Personally though
I see nothing wrong with giving 2 or 3 corruption
points in a night if he is extremely evil or cheats
alot, but make sure to give the points at the time of
the 'bad action'. This way he will know something is
up. When his time is up, I'm not sure if I would even
tell him what's up ... and just ask for his character
sheet, but probably I'd tell him he now has become an
all-powerful servant of the reckoners (he might not
be, but that's what his character thinks happened).
In a nut-shell, he's now an NPC.
Now for the question of why 2-3 points a night (and
only if warranted). Limiting 1 point a session might
mean you'll have to deal with him 8 - 12 sessions
before you claim his character (I doubt he'll repent).
With 2 or 3 a night it shortens it down to 3 or 4
sessions ... oh, and if he damages any other character
(who isn't evil) .. instant point.
Other instances for collecting points:
Taunting the Marshall
Disrupting play for an extended period of time
unnecessarily (making the rest of the players wait
while he spends 45 minutes indepthly roleplaying a
torture of Bob's pet cat)
Torturing or killing other characters
Torturing or killing other players
Cheating (you don't have to call him on it, just tell
him he gets a point, let him wonder why)
Suspected Cheating (this is the West, guilty until
proven innocent, again you don't have to call him on
this, just give him a point)
Eating the last pizza slice (especially if you paid
for it)
Again, I would limit it to 2 - 3 points MAX a session.
If he is trying to redeam himself though, then you
can be lienent.
