When Hucksters used to toss dice to see how many cards they drew, they had a 
different concentration for each hex, which they had to buy up with 
experience points to improve. Hexslingin is a catch-all concentration so you 
(1) don't have to keep track of many different hex ratings, and (2) don't 
have to spend so many experience points to raise the Huckster's ability to 
cast lots of different spells.

One rating matched to the die type of the trait the hex (s)he is casting 
requires.

Somebody else will undoubtedly be able to explain that better, but I hope it 
was at least somewhat helpful. :-)
