Okay, a bit of background to make the question make sense. My posse's
huckster is from near Phoenix, Arizona originally. Before the campaign
starts, he'd been into the army, gone through basic training (how long
would that last, and how thorough would it have been?), fought in a single
skirmish, and then gotten embroiled in a battle where he was taken prisoner
by the Yankees. Got put in a prison camp, shadow walked his way out a few
days later, fleeced some people at poker enough to buy himself a train ticket
out West (also won a decent copy of Hoyle's through unsportsmanlike tactics,
earning him an Enemy), and at that point the campaign kicks off and his
train gets derailed and all sorts of fearmonger-bustin' antics consume the
next two months of his life.
Anyway, at the end of the posse's last run-in with the Weird West, Frank the
huckster suffered a rather badly broken leg from a forgiving NPC who decided
not to just kill the Winded PCs before him. They were picked up by a
travelling moonshine salesman (or something to do with dungarees and a banjo
anyway), got to Denver, took a train to Albuquerque, spent two weeks there
trying and failing to heal, and eventually decided to head on down to Frank's
folks' farm.
So, we figure it's been about three months now since he went missing in
action. Would his family have gotten wind of this yet? A telegram, a
visitor from the Army, or just no word at all?
And the other, far more terse question is, how often is the Tombstone Epitaph
published?
