Re: [DL] Epic Battle Music

Gladiator. . . ohoho. Especially Barbarian Horde - influences of Wagner's
Ride of the Valkyries and Holst's Mars - Bringer of War. Especially
minutes 5:35-6:00 - you can just see barbarians being shattered against the
glorious might of Imperial Rome harrrr!!

<ahem>

Other good combat soundtracks are the Mortal Combat CDs - good for Wu
fests. The Trio from the Good the Bad and the Ugly is naturally, perfect
for a showdown at high noon, as is The Musical Pocket Watch from Fist Full
of Dollars. With of bit of timing you can play the action cards during the
song so that the dice are rolled at the end of the first crescendo, or if
you have a player that's into it, at the end of the song.

Try it some time.  Start counting Ace. . . King. . . Queen. . . Jack. .
alongside the final 30 seconds of <thum dadadada thum! thum! thum! thum!
dadadadada thum!> and see if you player doesn't immediately throw the dice
when the song ends.
