Re: [DL] Hucksters
Hello,
Well, my girlfriend plays a Huckster in the game that
I Marshal and she's quite happy with her spell casting
ability. However, she decided to specialize. During
character creation she assigned her D12 pull to her
Smarts. Then she bought her Hexslingin' skill up to
level 5. Finnally, she took ONLY Hexes related to her
smarts.
That means for every hex she rolls 5d12 first. This
usually gets her 1-3 raises so she's drawing 6-8
cards. However most of the time she gets only a pair.
We've only played one game and I believe she threw 5
hexes in the game total. 3 were pairs, 1 was a
straight and 1 was nothing and the hex failed.
I believe that magic in the Deadlands world is
supposed to be a difficult and unstable entity. So,
no you're probably not doing anything wrong. Magic
isn't as powerful or guaranteed in Deadlands like it
is in other more magic heavy worlds.
