On a related note, nothing makes an authentic gun-being-cocked-under-table
noise like a gun being cocked under a table. An antique (or maybe just
cool stuff) shop near me sells replica Western-type guns by a company
called Denix. I thought they looked cool enough, so bought a Peacemaker
for one of my posse members for his 21st, and fiddling with it quite a
bit before handing it over revealed it to be groovy indeed. A few weeks
later I went out and got myself the Colt Army can-&-ball replica I'd been
salivating over, and it looks like Christmas will being other pistols and
possibly even a Winchester rifle for other party members.

They're not the sturdiest things in the world - my Army's cylinder stopped
turning when cocking it about 24 hours after I got it, necessitating me
exchanging it for another one which is working fine still, and the
Peacemaker that started it all seems to have broken lately too. However,
I still recommend these things, especially to folks who don't live in the
US or other country where guns are things people have. They're heavy,
authentic-looking (except with very close inspction) and add real
 atmosphere.

The best web presence I've found for them is a company in Florida (I think)
who sell their stuff. Check it out...
