[DL] Weird West fiction suggestion
I've recently secured a copy of an old favourite of mine, Fevre Dream,
written by George R. R. Martin waaay back in 1982.
I read it when I was fourteen, and it is largely responsible for sparking my
interest in the civil war era (not immediately relevant to the book), the
Mississippi and riverboat culture, and vampires. (I think I might be the
only person who associates vampires with New Orleans not because of Anne
Rice, but because of this book).
It's long out of print, though with the success of his new series of books
(fantasy series, third book, A Storm of Swords just released) perhaps it
might see the light of day again.
If not, look for it used; if you liked River o' Blood, it's pretty much an
essential resource.
