[DL] Hello and Questions

Hello There.  My name is Jesse and I'm new to the
Deadlands RPG.  I just discovered it about a month or
so ago.  I was hesitant to get into it at first
because I'm not exactly a fan of the Western genre. 
However, after reading the player's and marshal's
handbook I can see that this game is a LOT of fun.

I was wondering, in general, how popular Deadlands is
and if it has a bright future.  I seem to have a bad
habit of getting into dead or dying RPGS.  As it is
this game is replacing my Chill campaign.  Chill is a
Horror RPG that is out of print.  When I first got
into Teenagers from Outer Space several years ago it
went out of print. Etc.

I got nervous when I first signed onto this mailing
list and the first set of messages I see is a
notification that the Doomtown CCG is being
discontinued and that (what I gather is a major player
in the Deadlands development team) is leaving.  I hope
this isn't a sign that the RPG itself is going south
so to speak.

Any information on the stability of this system and
setting would be greatly appreciated.
