Quick Question

One of my posse is a huckster who's background includes a preacher 
who is after his blood as he thinks he is a spawn of .....  The 
preacher has a faith aptitude hence he gets the protection miracle 
automatically (right?)  On his travels the fearless huckster has 
carelessly managed to catch a dose of lycanthropy.

So when they meet, if the preacher calls on protection, does it work 
against the huckster?

Any thoughts?
