Curse you Jimmie Walker!  An astute lister pointed out that I've been
misspelling dynamite in just about every post of mine.  Erg.  Thanks Mr.
Heivilin.

And I've gotten some comments giving a rough estimate of 1 lb of black
powder being about equivalent to 1 stick of dynamite.  So my 5 lb cask is
about 5 sticks.  Close enough for my game, and the math is easy!  Thanks all
for your input!
