This I must disagree with. Pinnacle charges $25 for the main books, which is
$5 less than most other RPGs. If you to consider Shadowrun is a $30 book
with a $20 Companion piece, Pinnacle's price balances out to be the same,
but in a hardback book, not some softcover that falls apart. L5R and 7th Sea
both have
Player's and GM's Guides and run $30 each.

The sourcebooks are 128 pages and retail for $20. This is a whole 5¢ higher
than most companies charge for their products of similar size. Hell, WotC's
proposed price and layout for their future "class" books (such as the
Monk/Fighter book _The Sword and the Fist_) is 96 pages for $19.95 ($31.95
in Canada). Pinnacle's books suddenly don't seem such a bad value when faced
with that, do they? Or the 96 page Monster Compedium of Faerun for $21.95
($33.95 in Canada)... geez..

Now White Wolf occasionally manages a $17.95 cover price, or maybe even a
$14.95 cover price. Of course, many of those books push the font up and give
a 2 inch margin to fill out the pages. I've seen more than half a page
totally blank. Tales from the Trails:Mexico was the worst book I've ever
seen - something like 16 point point with 2½ inch margins. Total crap. I
can't sell it at $4.00.

At the end of the day, I'd much rather spend my $20 on a Deadlands book than
most anything else, honestly.
