"Australasia" is a continent. "Australia" and "New Zealand" are countries.
Both countries are in the "Australasian" continent.

Hell, the names might be similar, but at least they're not as similar as the
country America which is in the continent of... America (well, North America
anyway) which contains a city called "New York" which is in the state of
"New York", and a city called "Washington" which is not in the state
"Washington". :-)

When I was young I wondered for years why people from Japen didn't know
their country was called Japan and kept calling it Nippon :-)
