Re: [DL] only a little OT, or not even, really.
Let's see, they'd have to be:
1. Champions. Great generic system, nice and brainy.
Superheroing is a great way to release stress, and
save the world while you're at it.
2. DeadLands. Also high on the thinking, and
incredible feel. Currently teaching me the much
needed "how to be a hero without being a superhero"
skill.
3. Amber. It's all about role-playing, and well I
have a "thing" for the Coreys. :) Or usual summer
Con game; beat out this year by DeadLands.
4. Call of Cthulhu. I've only had one character
survive an entire module, but the game can't be beat
for feel and horror factor (barring only DeadLands).
Plus a friend of mine's English teacher in college
play-tested it back in "the day;" man did she have
stories to tell! Sort of in the same vein, I like
Pendragon as well, but I haven't run it yet.
5. Home-grown game named Stygium. Think the old
computer game "hack"; basic, down and dirty dungeon
crawl (low to no magic, though). Man was I PISSED
when I finally worked a character up into the
beginnings of financial stability (3 modules down),
only to take a completely brainless wrong turn down a
fully mapped dungeon and walk right into a big 'ol
fire trap. *sigh* Singed chainmail, anyone?
Marguerite of EMGB, otherwise known as (more
characters than I can list here, but let me know if
you're really interested), currently Maggie Jensen.
