I have to agree - and disagree.
If WotC were to buy Pinnacle, then PEG would gain a remarkable stability 
and access to one of the most powerful distribution channels out 
there.  That's the good thing.

Of course there are several things that WotC has been unable to do well 
either - like fan base support and, well, they have a habit of picking up 
RPGs and ditching them when they aren't deemed "profitable enough".
