In the 1870s William Brinton has his own agenda of gathering arcane
artifacts, and his dark powers are a closely kept secret from the other
members of Exham Priory. If Exham Priory knew of Brinton's pact with a
demon, they would take action against him. However, the more success Brinton
has in his personal quest, the more Brinton takes advantage of Exham Priory.
In other words, on company time Brinton is a force for good, but serves more
as an administrator. In his off hours, Brinton embraces his damned status
fully.
