Actually, you shot the issue on the head. Or something like that.
Most of Exham Priory is a force for good, but is doesn't shy away from using
supernatural means to achieve its goals. Hucksters are often actively
recruited for Exham Priory. Also, its ideas of good don't always mesh with
other local agencies ideas. Neither the Texas Rangers or The Agency care
much for Exham Priory, but it keeps a low enough profile that it is too much
effort to uproot them.

FOR MY POSSE--------------------------------------------------------------




William Brinton is one of the most notable members. He has been in charge of
the American branch for a number of years. However, he feels the years
slipping by and wants to take power for himself. His first appearance was in
late 1876 when the posse stumbles on a plan to assassinate President
Jefferson Davis. The posse starts to get tidbits of info from Exham Priory
in exchange for work. When it comes to 1927, he has made a deal with a
powerful demon and creates a disguise for himself working under the name
James Brinton, the alledged son of William.

His brother Martin Brinton, was also a member before his untimely demise.
Martin Brinton was a member of the clergy and attended to matters of faith
in the American branch of Exham Priory. He sacrificed himself in early 1877
to save the posse from a horrible unnatural storm.
