If he tries to use them on different targets, we have a house rule that
states a double barrelled shotgun must declare wether he is going to fire
one or two barrels before he rolls for the first shot.  We also double
the recoil penalties for slugs (second shot is -4)

As far as a veteran background, give him a curse that increases his
chance to backlash whenever his hands are coated with gunpowder residue(
say, on both Jokers)  seems when he was just starting out a soul blast
manitou got a little jealous. . . anytime he wants to cast a hex, he
can't have fired the shotgun(notoriously smoky, I know) within the last
24hrs.  This should keep him from doing it. . .

BTW: we have a hexslinger that uses a scattergun with slugs, so I know
where you're coming from.
