The "The Haunting of Hill House" movie was based on the book by Shirley
Jackson, and was recently remade ("The Haunting").
Another excellent book on the subject is "Hell House" by Richard Matheson.
(The author who wrote "What Dreams May Come", and "Stir of Echoes".)
